Transcendent Mandalas
Transcendent Mandalas
Sharon Weir is a lifelong creative whose artistic journey has evolved through multiple mediums. Currently, she is captivated by the fusion of assemblage art and the ancient practice of mandala making. Each time Sharon approaches a blank canvas, she embraces the unknown, allowing her pieces to come to life through intuition and emotion.
With years of experience teaching high school, Sharon finds that her connection to creativity has been vital in maintaining her balance and sanity. A pivotal moment in her artistic development came from a single assemblage class with the late Richard Allen Wells, who inspired her to transition from two-dimensional to three-dimensional work. This transformative experience ignited her current obsession with mandalas and the study of sacred geometry, drawing from ancient interpretations to uncover hidden wisdom.
Originally from Bakersfield, CA, she moved to Reno, NV in 1968 where she attended Hug High School. Sharon's life journey has taken her across the United States, enriching her experiences and perspectives. She holds a master’s degree in teaching and finds joy in working with teenagers, fostering their creativity.
When she’s not inspiring the next generation in the classroom, Sharon enjoys creating art, playing with her poodles, or spending cherished moments with her grandchildren. She is grateful for the unwavering support of her wife, who encourages her in all her artistic and personal endeavors.
